My Neighbour

Together we are called the world;

I’ve not been so chanced to travel all over the world but I believe I still have time to do that. What I’m about to share is what I came across in my journey through life so far, I have been exposed to different shadows of life, both sunset and sunrise have met me in various aspects.

This is the only and truest answer to all our differences and questions, the oneness in humanity, we all are the same and that doesn’t matter where we are from, who or what we are, because we are connected by the eternal cord of called human being, therefore we have to start being human and nothing less, we have to start seeing one another as human. I left my country from a blessed coastal land of the western part of Africa, Nigeria, and I came to one of the richest lands in Asia, India. To my surprise, I found out the settlers of this great nation are also humans. It was hard for me to find the differences between here and there,I mean the cultural activities or climatic conditions and some general skills are in fact quite similar to my home country, many of the superstitious beliefs are exactly as it is in my home, and of course there are quite a few dissimilarities which is not of importance.

It is man who creates boundaries, religions, races, geographical blindness and differences. Therefore if only we begin to see each other not based on region, not based on religion, not based on languages, not based on races or castes, not based on the differences we create in our filthy minds, which result into our social and mental blindness, wherfore many of us have our eyes opened, yet we remain blind to the truth, blind to the fact that we are all humans, created in beauty and all loveliness. If then we start seeing each other as human no matter the race, caste, continent or country, if only if we can drop our pride, stupidity fashioned in power, if only we can start seeing ourselves as those who dwell in the same home called planet earth. It is an undeniable fact, earth is our home, we need to cherish one another in this present home before we ever think of an unseen eternal home. So take a deep breath or a sip from your cup and think about it for a while before you continue.

We are one

Another ache is the that of a country proving stronger and higher than the other, forgetting they are both in the same planet, even some are of the same continent who share same boundaries, leaders dressed up in suits or their native attires, they sit in a well conditioned offices and they give war commands to men in uniforms to go fight war which they created, weapons of war are forged everyday to prove who owns the world power and they stand in podiums screaming they are for the peace of the world, what sense are these countries proving? I really don’t understand. Men also are showing there superiority over women, even those living under the same roof calling themselves husbands. Funny enough, this act won’t bring about happiness to any of them in anyway, because “happiness is what we create from within and then the output can be obvious for all to see”. We all think we can feign to work for the peace of humanity, whereas; we are filled with ego, we are being sentimental, greedy, and we lack the ability to see the light in humanity because we don’t even believe in light anymore, we prefer lies over truth and thus we remain foolish enough to think we are wise. We forget the part that we need each other because neither a race nor country nor tribe nor set of people can live in this world alone, the earth is too vast to be scanty and that’s why we are plenty. Can someone tell me, what is the point of we having eyes if we can’t even see what life is all about, we are too wise in our own way, we create madness and call it development, we keep thinking of healing mother earth but we forget we need one another to make this world a better place, who are we without our neighbours?.

Its not about me, not about you, it’s about us.

In another part, I blame most parents who nurture their kids on the basis of differences, telling how their neighbour is different from them and how they shouldn’t talk to some set of religious or caste or regular type of people. Without doubt, a child growing in that form will become foolishly sentimental and judgmental, he/she will only be the replica of what his/her parent has impacted. Until and unless if the child could see life in a different way and that can only be driven by the compelling force of will to change.

Finally on the question of who my neighbour is, I see a neighbour as one next to you, every single human you come across is your neighbor, your wife or husband, your children, families, friends, the bus passengers, conductors and drivers, the retailers, the shop keepers, your office gatemen, your boss, your teachers, your students and every single human on this planet, they are your neighbours and you have to start seeing them as due yourself. If you can’t see these ones as you see yourself, if you can’t love them as much as you will like to be loved, if you keep seeing them as someone different in your own terms, then you are not in any form human. Therefore I’ll suggest you get out of this planet and find one where you can to live alone or find a planet with beings like you.
